  Profile

Danny Garcia (23-0, 14 KOs) claimed the vacant WBC super lightweight world title with a 12 round unanimous decision over Erik Morales (52-8, 36 KOs). Garcia outworked Morales over the second half of the fight and floored the legend with a left hook in the eleventh to win by scores of 117-110, 116-112, 118-109.

Morales fought valiantly as a pro Mexican crowd tried to lift the veteran against the younger, stronger Garcia.

"He's a normal fighter, not a great fighter, but it seems like my age caught up to me tonight," Morales said through a translator. "There were a lot of things that happened here."

According to CompuBox statistics, Garcia landed 238 of 779 punches (31 percent), while Morales landed only 164 of 547 blows (30 percent).
