Marijuana Policy Project to condemn Nevada State Athletic Commission's punishment of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for marijuana use.  

According to FightNews, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has announced that former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will formally file a lawsuit this week against the Nevada State Athletic Commission over the $900,000 USD fine the organization levied…

According to BoxingScene, former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs) may bolt to the super middleweight division next year if an immediate rematch with Sergio Martinez cannot be made.  

World Boxing Council (WBC) has suspended its former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. indefinitely and fined him $20,000 USD for testing positive for marijuana in his post-fight drug test following his lopsided loss to Sergio Martinez last month.  

Taking a page out of Floyd Mayweather's playbook, Sergio Martinez insists Olympic style drug testing will be a prerequisite for Martinez vs Chavez II.  

Less than two weeks after Amir Khan's parting of ways with trainer Freddie Roach, some are saying Julio Cesar Chavez Jr may follow suit.   

"In the 50 years of history of the WBC there have been 13 cases in all its fights and only 2 have been in championship bouts...boxing is clean of drugs."  

It wasn't Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez but Sergio Martinez vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr far surpassed pay-per-view (PPV) expectations.  

Chavez vs Martinez paled in comparision to the numbers put up by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao but was a hit nonetheless.
