Dubois vs Joyce Predictions and OddsDubois vs Joyce Predictions and Odds
Joyce vs Dubois Odds (as of February 1)
- Not surprisingly, Daniel Dubois is the clear pick in this one... Fox Bet likes Dubois (-400) over Joyce (+275). Odds on a draw are +2500.
Odds methodology
- Aesthetics: Daniel Dubois, from a visual standpoint, looks to be the stronger, more versatile of the two. He also looks a tad quicker, more threatening and has a prettier style.
- Age: Bettors might also be considering the age difference as Joyce is 34 while Dubois is only 22. However, it seems many heavyweights aren't peaking until their early to mid 30s today anyway. Experts shouldn't take age into consideration, especially because Joyce is a fresh 34. He's not Chris Arreola or Shannon Briggs at the same age. In fact, the age difference could be to Joyce's benefit because he's probably the more mature, more composed of the two.
- Momentum: Dubois has generated more momentum to this point and will be the slight A-side. Hence, he's more likely to win a close fight should it go to the scorecards.
- Nathan Gorman: Daniel's recent drubbing of young prospect Nathan Gorman, then undefeated, elevated the former's status in the eyes of many. Daniel performed as an elite heavyweight would have been expected that evening.
Dubois vs Joyce predictions:
"Both are of similar ability and both have KO power. Joyce has faced much better quality opposition so far and has better amateur experience. Not sure that will be a factor in this fight. With their styles and how they both come forward, it’s probably down to who lands clean first."

..."I’m going
Daniel Dubois, he has the greater fundamentals. Joe will certainly be Daniel's biggest test and stretch the younger champion, although I see a late Dubois KO 9-11."
"Joyce only seems to have one gear and one way and that will suit Daniel who eventually will land something which due to Joyce’s style will make it far worse...Joe doesn’t retreat much so this has all the hallmarks of an absolute classic all-British heavyweight fight with two rising stars. Great for boxing and great to see!""

"I found it very interesting that Dubois thought that Joyce’s only advantage over him was experience- in my opinion, if Joyce can negate, or just handle, Dubois’ power, the experience will be what counts."
"I think Dubois’ experienced team wouldn’t have taken this fight without good reason, something suggests to me that the decision from the Joyce side may have been a little more gung-ho."
"My prediction though is for Joyce to nick a tight win over the distance."
