Haney vs. Gamboa odds: Will Yuriorkis check Devin's chin in Florida?

Saturday, November 7th, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, current WBC Lightweight champion Devin Haney (24-0, 15 KOs) will look to defend his coveted green strap against former Olympic Gold medalist and former unified Featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (30-3, 18 KOs) in tonight's main event of the evening!

The scheduled twelve round title fight can be viewed at 8PM ET/5PM PT on DAZN.

Although the Cuban exile will become the most notable fighter on Haney's young resume, most experts and fight scribes believe tonight's main event will prove to be a one-sided mismatch in favor of the 21 year old boxing phenom.

Despite Gamboa's proven skills and vaunted punching power, he will be coming into the ring at age 38.  The entertaining veteran fighter is also 3 inches shorter than the reigning champ and will have to overcome a six-inch reach deficiency.

Yes..."El Ciclon de Guantanamo" still has excellent power and good speed, but he'll have to walk through fire to deliver any meaningful punch against the fundamentally sound reigning champion.

Devin Haney seems to be the total package in the ring.  His footwork, handspeed, power, reflexes, and overall athleticism is off the charts.  He can control distance from mid to long range, and can bang underneath with a full arsenal of punches.  He appears to be "too good to be true" in the squared circle.

Perhaps he is.

The late, great HOF boxing promoter Don "War a Week" Chargin always said, "never get too excited about a prospect until you see how well he takes a punch."

After 24 professional bouts, Haney has yet to face any kind of adversity in the ring, and has never taken a solid punch from anyone at the world-class level with 8 ounce gloves.

Could we see Devin Haney's chin finally tested against a world-class puncher like Yuriorkis Gamboa?

If Race and Sports Books are any indication, probably not.

Betting Odds

According to the odds at BetMGM, Devin Haney is currently listed as a 25 to 1 (-2500) betting favorite.  So at these extremely wide odds, a gambler stands to win $4 for every $100 wagered for a straight-up Haney victory.

Tonight's title challenger, Yuriorkis Gamboa, is currently sitting as a 14 to 1 (+1400) betting underdog, which means you could win $1,400 for every $100 wagered on a straight-up Gamboa victory.

Sexy Pick: Despite taking current WBA titlist Gervonta Davis into the final round before getting stopped in his last fight, I can't see the gallant Cuban taking the much bigger Devin Haney past rounds 7 or 8.

So the FightSaga sexy pick of the evening will be a Devin Haney KO in a 7-8 group rounds bet at +450 odds.  That should yield any bettor $450 for every $100 wagered.

Enjoy the fights this evening on DAZN!!
