Heavyweight Prospect Ruiz Scores Impressive KO
Highly regarded Heavyweight prospect Andy Ruiz Jr. scored a second round stoppage over Ken Frank in a scheduled six round bout at the BlueWater Resort & Casino in Parker, Arizona .
Under intense pressure from the opening bell, Frank held on as Andy Ruiz dazzled the crowd with his great hand speed and powerful punch combinations.
The second round proved to be too much for Frank as Ruiz opened with a barrage of punches that hurt Frank. Once Frank staggered, Ruiz showed the killer instinct and landed a flurry of punches that forced Frank's corner to throw in the towel at the 1:53 mark.
Ruiz trainer Miquel Diaz heaped praise on his fighter after the bout. "He didn't just look good, he looked fantastic," said the happy trainer.
Ken Frank also had good things to say about his opponent. "I've fought guys all over the world and this guy is the hardest puncher I've ever faced." He said. "He's got the whole package."
Ruiz will fight again Oct 29th, 2011 in Oklahoma vs. an opponent to be named at a later date.
Ruiz, 253 lbs of Las Vegas, NV, is now 12-0 with eight knockouts.
