Horn vs Tszyu odds: What the heck is going on?Hot
Two of Australia's finest boxers are set to meet on April 22, Tim Tszyu (15-0) and Jeff Horn (20-2-1).
And both already have a special place in Australian sports history.
Tim is the undefeated son of the popular Kostya Tszyu, a Soviet-born Aussie who is considered a national treasure Down Under. And Horn, a former world champion, is an Australian native who overcame the odds to dethrone fight legend Manny Pacquiao in arguably the biggest fight to have ever taken place on Aussie soil.
In April, one of them will take a giant step into attaining immortality in Australian sports culture and international respect and relevance across the globe.
Who do you like in this battle of super welterweight Aussies?
Horn vs Tszyu odds
Surprisingly, the less accomplished Tszyu is favored to win. bet 365 has the former as a -188 favorite while Horn is the underdog at +145. Hence, a successful $188 wager on Tim would yield a $100 profit while a $100 bet on Horn would net a $145 profit.
So, what's going on? Tim's resume isn't as impressive as Jeff's.
For starters, the 25 year old Tszyu looks a bit more dangerous in the ring and might be hungrier at this stage of his career than Horn. An although Jeff was dominated in 2018 by Terence Crawford, who some consider the best boxer in the world pound for pound, that fight is probably not what bettors are focusing on as it relates to Horn.

Bettors are weighing Horn's two 2019 bouts with Michael Zerafa which were contested at middleweight. Horn was stopped inside the distance in their first bout and redeemed himself by winning December's rematch compliments of a majority decision.
Although Horn exacted revenge, bettors see vulnerabilities in him they think the 25 year old, offensive-minded Tszyu can expose. Even in the second Zerafa fight, Horn appeared out on his feet in the ninth.
How will Horn deal with Tszyu's speed and polish, and that awkward style that is so reminiscent of his father's? Given he had problems with Zerafa at 160, there will be a certain degree of difficulty with Tszyu at 154.

The odds aren't overwhelming, though, because Jeff has shared the ring with, and defeated, higher caliber opponents. And to his credit, he was motivated for the Zerafa rematch and found a way to win after getting hurt.
Jeff Horn fights with tremendous heart and is very durable but he simply may not have the hunger or natural athletic gifts of a fighter like Tszyu. That stated, Horn has faced opponents as good or better than Tszyu but Tim hasn't faced anyone as solid or accomplished as Horn.
Horn vs Tszyu will be a good test for both fighters. If Horn is motivated, focused and disciplined, this is virtually a 50-50 fight.
