Jennifer Han May be Star of Show as Headliner, David Rodriguez Bows Out Due to Injury

WBC FECOMBOX heavyweight titlist David "El Niño" Rodriguez (35-0, 33 KO) was to take one more step toward an expected clash with Chris Arreola next year, his expected knockout recital to be supported by a performance from El Paso's Jennifer Han.

David Rodriguez will not fight; his promoter, Zeferino Ramirez, indicates that El Niño suffered an injury to his hamstring while doing sprints. Headlining duties are assumed by Hector Camacho Jr., who is angling for a shot next year against WBC light middleweight champ, Saul 'Canelo' Alverez.

Camacho has the name and experience to attract interest, though he is in a rebuilding phase following his aborted challenge for David Lemieux's WBC International middleweight title last October. Lemieux impressed with a first round knockout.

Jennifer Han recently improved to 3-1-1 as a boxing pro, but her record is only the surface of a far deeper fighting pedigree.

Han recently improved her record with a dominating victory over Fort Worth's Lisa Lamb (now 6-6-1). The twenty-eight year old super featherweight ventured into Lamb's backyard to participate in Paulie Ayala's 12th annual Boxing at the Ballroom, an annual event that raises money to support the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth.

Han comes from an accomplished fighting family. Han's father, Master Bae Han, operates a martial arts studio in El Paso. Her brother, Abraham 'Abie' Han, has a perfect boxing record of 14-0, 10 KO. Younger twin sisters Stephanie and Heather are making names for themselves as well, with a national Golden Gloves championship on Stephanie's resume. Jennifer is a six time national amateur champion and an accomplished kick boxer. She also recently competed in Todas Contra Mexico, the world's first all-female boxing reality show.

Jennifer has complained of some inability to find opponents. This is an understandable problem, as she is an accomplished fighter with poise and clear ring intellect. Fans of women's boxing, and fans of boxing talent of any stripe, should pay attention to the Han name in future months.

Camacho Jr. and Han will display their skills at Cohen Stadium in El Paso, Texas on October 15th. Han's opponent is yet to be determined.
