Joshua vs Parker training: Bad news for AJ?
Several months ago, WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker recently underwent surgery on both elbows and early reports suggest he's like new money.
"A totally different power now," heavyweight Malik Scott (38-3-1, 13 KO) recently said of Parker in an interview with Sky Sports.
"I will say the last time it was like 70 per cent to me. Right now it's at 120."
Scott, who was in Parker's training camp last year to help him prepare for Hughie Fury, is once again assisting the Kiwi by helping him get ready for Anthony Joshua.
"When he was getting ready for Fury, there was times in sparring where we were having to stop," declared Scott.
Perhaps bad elbows at least partially explains Parker's less-than-impressive wins over Hughie Fury, Andy Ruiz, Jr and Razvan Cojanu?
"I don't think that the elbow, the shoulder, none of that is an issue right now..."
"The reason why I say that is, because I come from a perspective of Joseph Parker never had thudding power. He's always had accurate power. The speed slowed down because of the elbow."
"Now that the elbow is fixed, the speed is back up, which means it gets to the target quicker. Which means you don't see the shots coming, which causes more pain, and more knockouts."
Will Parker's presumed restored explosiveness cause issues for AJ? Or is Team Parker playing mind games with Joshua, hoping these stories will create some level of doubt in his mind and force him to be more tentative than his norm?

Rumors abound Joshua will enter this bout much lighter than he was in his previous two fights. If that's the case, it's a wise move. Rumors or not, it would behoove AJ to prepare with speed and endurance as top priorities.
"I see something"
Ever since Joshua's successful title defense against Carlos Takem, Parker has been chompin' at the bit to fight Joshua.
But as an elite heavyweight, Parker has been far from dominant. How much quicker is the post-surgery version of Parker and does he see a chink in Joshua's armor? If so, it likely means Team Parker thinks it can knockout Joshua.
