Joshua vs Usyk odds (early)
“Heavyweights stay away, he takes a great shot and I don’t even know if I hurt him. He is even better than it says on the box," Tony Bellew stated of current undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk after the former was KO'd by the latter last night.
"I had a great plan, I tried my best, but it wasn’t good enough. He is just so hard and awkward, putting pressure, tap, tap, tap, then he stings. He overpowers you and is bigger than you think."
Let the drum beat begin... Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk.
Bookies have already unleashed numbers should Joshua and Usyk face another in April (which probably won't happen then). And according to SportBible, Joshua is a solid 1/4 favorite while Usyk sits at 11/4. Odds of a draw are 25/1.
SportBible also created a Joshua vs Usyk poll on Twitter and, after 26,000 votes, 81 percent of fans tabbed the Brit, Joshua, to win.
But not everyone is convinced Joshua would defeat Usyk.
Michael Hunter, a former cruiserweight contender turned heavyweight, recently spoke with BoxingNewsOnline.net and shared some interesting tidbits about Oleksandr Usyk (16-0, 12 KO) who defeated him via a unanimous decision last year.
Discussing Usyk's imminent move to heavyweight, Hunter told BoxingNewsOnline.net:
"I think he would beat [Anthony] Joshua, without a doubt. I think he would outbox him and beat him on points very easily."
"I think, even in England. This guy has a lot of experience. Even though these guys are very big, we're used to fighting big guys."
"He's fought all over the world, he's fought in the Olympics, being in the big crowd is not going to be a problem for him and I think it would end up reversing on Anthony Joshua, the pressure would end up flipping on Anthony Joshua when they get in the ring," Hunter added.
