Juan Manuel Marquez: Pacquiao chapter is closed, done with Las Vegas

Lee Cleveland Updated February 13, 2019
Chris Robinson of Hustle Boss caught up with Angel Heredia, strength & conditioning coach for Juan Manuel Marquez, to discuss the fight legend's future. "I spoke with him [Marquez] a couple days ago and he says he doesn't know yet who he's going to fight [next]."

When Heredia asked Marquez about the possibility for a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao, Angel, quoting Marquez, stated 'that chapter is closed now.' "

The former four division world champion, ever since his thrilling knockout of Pacquiao in December 2012, has stood firm in his refusal to face Manny a fifth time.

Eying a rematch with Tim Bradley, the 40 year old Marquez said via BoxingScene, "[The win over Pacquiao] is and always will be an unforgettable moment for me, for the fans."

"That is precisely why I think there is no point in a fifth fight although the promoters are pushing [for it]."

According to Heredia, Marquez wants a rematch with Bradley most of all but Ruslan Provodnikov is an "option" too.

Heredia added Marquez doesn't intend to fight in Las Vegas anymore. Of the eight blemishes on his record (7 losses and a draw) six resulted from fights in Las Vegas.
