The upcoming heavyweight title superfight between former long-reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko and current IBF champion Anthony Joshua is on course to be the biggest fight in British history.

Announced in mid/late December, over 80,000 tickets were sold by January 17.

“The demand for tickets for Joshua vs Klitschko is phenomenal – this is unquestionably the biggest fight in British boxing history and we would have sold out Wembley twice over,” Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing's managing director and promoter, recently stated via SKY Sports.

We have put a request in to Brent Council, the Mayor’s office and TFL (Transport For London) to increase the capacity by a further 5,000 tickets. We are confident of a positive answer and we will release further news shortly. Roll on April 29!”

So are there any tickets left?

According to The Sun UK on February 17, a few Klitschko vs Joshua tickets are available on secondary sites at inflated prices. Seats for those tickets are located in the upper levels and cost roughly £40.

The same source also reported there are a few lower tier seats available at £60 and £80.

Wladimir Klitschko vs Anthony Joshua
Date: Saturday, April 29, 2017
Location: London
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Broadcast: SKY Sports (UK); TBD in U.S.
Division: Heavyweight
Titles: WBA (Vacant), IBF
Champion: Joshua (IBF)
Favorite: Joshua

Klitschko vs Joshua will serve as Wladimir's first bout in 17 months, when his 10-year win streak and heavyweight title reign came to an end in underwhelming fashion as Brit Tyson Fury outboxed Wlad over twelve dismal rounds.

Wladimir had been training for an October rematch with Tyson but that bout was cancelled by Team Fury as ts fighter is on a hiatus from boxing to focus on drug addiction recovery.

In Fury's absence, fellow Brit Anthony Joshua has caught fire. The latter claimed one of Tyson's titles last year and has looked monstrous in the ring.

In fact, Joshua has built so much momentum during Fury's time away, his fight with Wladimir will be bigger than Klitschko vs Fury 2 would have.

Due to Fury's inactive status and the fact he's been stripped of his titles, the winner of Klitschko vs Joshua will likely be considered the consensus heavyweight champion of the world.
