Manny Pacquiao trolls Mayweather ahead of fight
Fight legend Manny Pacquiao had a few interesting words for rival and peer Floyd Mayweather.
Less than 24 hours prior to the latter's fight with UFC star Conor McGregor, Manny had some not-so-friendly words for his foe.
In reply to Conor's rants at the weigh-in yesterday, Floyd tweeted:
"Talking doesn't win fights."
And Pacquiao replied, "But running does. God bless on your fight tonight!"
Manny, of course, was referencing his 2015 superfight with Floyd.
On that evening, the three judges at ringside, Dave Moretti, Burt Clements, and Glenn Feldman, scored the fight 118-110, 116-112, and 116-112 respectively, all in favor of the event's winner by unanimous decision, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
And while CompuBox numbers favored Floyd, some insist Manny deserved the nod.
"I watched the fight several times. I scored it and I believe I won by two points against Mayweather. But we have to accept the decision," a disappointed Pacquiao told reporters in Manila.
But by the end of the fight, the defensive-oriented Mayweather, according to CompuBox, recorded six more punches thrown than the offensive Pacquiao.
Although Floyd's critics call him a 'runner,' he rarely gets on his bicycle and is sometimes the aggressor. Floyd will sit in the pocket but not trade punches. Moreover, he doesn't throw punches in bunches.
He doesn’t run but doesn’t fully engage either.
Manny on Mayweather vs McGregor
"There is no way he will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd, Pacquiao recently told Yahoo!
"How could he? He has no professional experience in boxing."
"McGregor has no chance in this fight," Pacquiao went on to say, "In fact, it could be very boring."
"The real fight and the best fight is Golovkin vs. Canelo," Pacquiao said. "The best vs. the best. That's the fight I will be watching."
