Robert Helenius: Top 10 heavyweight to face a 'Tank' Nov 10Hot
Robert Helenius (17-0, 11 KOs) will meet Sherman "Tank" Williams (35-11-2, 19 KOs) in the squared circle at Helsingin Jäähalli on November 10.
"It´s a done deal," Nordic Fight Night promoter Nisse Sauerland confirmed.
"The contracts have been signed, the Tank is coming to Finland! This is going to be a tough test for Robert in his comeback. Williams is experienced, rugged and strong. But for Robert to make an impact at the world level, he has to get rid of everyone. With the help of his fantastic Finnish fans, I am sure that he will break down the Tank and continue his winning streak."
Tank Wiliams shouldn't be taken lightly. He's a youthful 40 and tough, rugged journeyman who has 49 fights under his belt and isn't unfamiliar with elite opponents. He's faced Evander Holyfield, Ruslan Chagaev Jameel McCline, Tye Fields and Manuel Charr to name but a few.
Built like a tank at 5' 11"/180cm, Williams usually fights between 240 and 260 lbs and has only been stopped once in 49 bouts - and that happened in 1999.
Can Robert Helenius be the first to stop Williams in 13 years?
In January 2011, Williams rocked Evander Holyfield several times before Holyfield suffered a gash over his eye after a clash of heads. After the 48-year-old legend complained to the referee that he was unable to see properly and the fight was duly waved off as a 'no contest'.
Tank Williams, in his most recent outing, defeated Chauncy Welliver (then 53-5-5) in Macao, Macao S.A.R., China in June.
The rugged fighter from The Bahamas is optimistic about his trip to Helsinki. "I look forward to coming to Finland and defeat Helenius in front of his home fans. What´s a Nightmare compared to a Tank," Williams said. "I am humbled and thank God for the opportunity. I am a warrior by nature. My whole life I have been strong and powerful, that is why my ring name is Tank. Robert is a good fighter and he has my respect. The fight will be one that fans will remember. I am coming to fight."

And he added: "This will be like David fighting Goliath. I am David, a true warrior. A shorter fighter fighting a big tall giant. The bigger the giant, the harder they fall!"
After 11 months, Robert Helenius insists he's eager to get back into the ring. "This will be an exciting fight," Helenius said. "Williams has proven his class in a lot of battles, he is strong and rugged, but he will not leave Finland victorious. I am taller, I am stronger and I am better. The Tank will crash in Helsinki on November 10!"
The 6'6½"/200cm 'Nordic Nightmare' from Finland last fought on December 3rd, winning the vacant European Heavyweight title via a hotly disputed split decision over Dereck Chisora (then 15-1, 9 KO). However, Team Helenius believes their fighter's injured shoulder hampered him from achieving maximum performance against Chisora and, after some time off, Robert Helenius is confident he's back in top form and ready to battle.
If Robert Helenius, who will enjoy a massive 7½" inch height advantage, can stop Williams within the distance, it will be highly impressive and signal the 'Nordic Nightmare' is definitely back.
Helenius vs Williams will air in Times Square live on November 10th at 4:30 PM EST. It will also stream live on Roku, XBOX, iPhone and other devices as well as on EpixHD.com and facebook. You can watch it for free online as long as you sign up for a 2 week free trial.
