Siarhei Liakhovich, 43, facing Mike Bissett, Sep 14
Former heavyweight belt-holder Siarhei Liakhovich (27-7, 17 KO) returns to the ring after a two year absense to face Mike Bissett (15-12-1, 9 KO) at WestWorld in Scottsdale, AZ.
Siarhei, of Belarus, last fought in October 2017 defeating Ramon Olivas (then 14-7, now 14-14) by stoppage. Prior to that, Liakhovich fought Andy Ruiz in 2014 and became the first to take the Mexican the distance in the 10 round unanimous decision loss.
The 43 year old Liakhovich has faced some big names over the years such as Lamon Brewster, Shannon Briggs, Nikolay Valuev, Dominick Guinn, Maurice Harris, Robert Helenius, Bryant Jennings and, of course, Andy Ruiz.
An accomplished amateur, Liakhovich sported a record of 145-15 in the pre pro ranks and was a member of the 1996 Belorussian Olympic team. Look for that pedigree rise to the fore against lower tier opponents like Bissett.
If Liakhovich fights consistently and deliberately and raises his caliber of opposition each time, he could crash the top 30 because he's so skilled and experienced.
