The final scores were 76-75 (twice) and 77-74, for Vukosa.

According to FightNews.com. Vukosa landed the cleaner, more effective shots and defended better than his foe. He also floored Cusumano in Round 3 with a right hook.

Danville, Virginia's Cusumano, 31, entered the bout having won three in a row and 14 of his last 15.

Dubbed 'Gentle Giant,' Vukosa is an oddity in the sport. He was a 2000 National Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champion and was once trained by the legendary Freddie Roach but we haven't heard a lot about him through the years.

He debuted in June 2001, was a sparring partner for fight great James Toney and went 8-0 over the first 11 months of his career before taking a 12 year hiatus from boxing.

He returned in July 2014, defeating a formidable Jason Estrada (then 20-4). He fought again that year and once in 2015 before taking a 3 1/2 year sabbatical before returning last month to defeat Justine Rolfe (then 1-0). Friday night's bout was just the 3rd for Vukosa since February 2015.
