Fresh off a stoppage of Amir Khan, WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford (35-0, 26 KOs) will likely face WBO top-rated Egidijus Kavaliauskas (21-0-1, 17 KOs) next.

Look for Crawford vs Kavaliauskas to be confirmed for December 14 in the next four weeks.

Per BoxingScene.com, ESPN execs like the idea of having a card headlined by Crawford vs Kavaliauskas air immediately after the presentation of the Heisman Trophy which will also be broadcast by the network.

The likely location is Crawford's hometown of Omaha, NE but Madison Square Garden is being seriously considered as well.

Of course, we'd much rather see Terence Crawford take on his IBF peer, Errol Spence; But that match-up hasn't matured yet. When the money is right, it'll happen.

So, who is Egidijus Kavaliauskas?

Hailing from Lithuania, the 31 year old No. 1 rated WBO welterweight contender turned pro in March 2013 after representing his country in, both, the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. And like Crawford, Kavaliauskas is promoted by Top Rank.

The only blemish on his resume is a draw to Ray Robinson (then 24-3) in his most recent bout last March.

Kavaliauskas is BoxRec's No. 13 welterweight while the WBC and IBF rank him No. 7.
