FightSaga caught up with UFC legend Tito Ortiz (16-10, MMA) at The Magic Show in Las Vegas to discuss Floyd Mayweather vs Miguel Cotto, May 5th.

While taking a short break from showcasing 'Punishment,' his new clothing line, Tito Ortiz shared his thoughts on the upcoming bout between WBC Welterweight Champion Floyd Mayweather Jr ((42-0, 26 KO) and WBA Jr Middleweight King Miguel Cotto 37-2, 30 KO).

The former UFC Light Heavyweight champ told FightSaga, "Cotto, I think you're a little too slow. Mayweather's way too fast."

Tito Ortiz believes Cotto will not be able to land significant shots on the ultra-talented Mayweather and implied Floyd would dominate Cotto offensively, perhaps hinting of a knockout.

According to Ortiz, Floyd Mayweather's speed and ability to avoid clean punches sets him apart from his opponents and ultimately makes him the best in the world.

The UFC star is not alone in his assessment. Others in the fight game, as well as many well-respected boxing trainers, have praised Floyd Mayweather Jr for his defensive prowess. The allusive Mayweather has been very effective in rolling away from his opponents' shots while getting in position to counter effectively with short, crisp punches of his own.

A fan of Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Tito Ortiz stated he would love to see Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Manny Pacquiao, as would most in the fight game.

"I think that (Mayweather vs Pacquiao) would be one of the best fights in the history of boxing."

A mixed martial arts professional since 1997, the 37 year old self-proclaimed 'Huntington Beach Bad Boy' is 16-10 and has posted wins over MMA standouts Wanderlei Silva, Ken Shamrock, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin and Ryan Bader.

Along with MMA fighters Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes and Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz was one of the sport's early stars and major pay-per-view attractions.
