Wladimir Klitschko inks 5 fight deal with German television network RTL
Thirty-nine year old WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir "Dr. Steelhammer" Klitschko (64-3 53 KO) has just signed a brand new five-fight agreement with German television network RTL, whom he has been with since 2006.
The first fight of his newly signed five fight deal comes against mandatory title challenger Tyson Fury (24-0 18 KO) of the United Kingdom on October 24 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Concerning his recently inked deal, Klitschko told Fightnews.com “I’m really happy that we can celebrate our tenth anniversary together with RTL in the coming year. I’ve never seen better world boxing telecasts than those of RTL. Now we’ll work together in the long term and deliver to the fans at home many high class fights.”
The legendary Klitschko will be fighting in his 28th world title bout when he takes on Fury this fall.
Wladamir first won a share of the World Heavyweight Championship when he defeated American champion Chris Byrd in late 2000. Sinec then, he's been victorious in 25 of 27 world title bouts and hasn't lost since 2004 (Lamon Brewster).
And since recapturing the IBF Heavyweight title in 2006, Klitschko has gone on to make 19 successful title defenses including winning the WBA and WBO titles in the process.
