It is considered an honor to fight at The Garden. Some of the greatest and most significant fights have been fought there, including Louis vs Walcott, Louis vs Marciano, Ali vs Frazier, Robinson vs Fullmer and Duran vs Buchanan to name a few.
A life size statue of Joe Gans, lightweight champion of the world from 1902-1908, is located in the Garden's Club Bar and Grill. A century later boxers still rub Gans' outstretched left fist for good luck before their fights.
