David "El Nino" Rodriguez: Ready to RollWritten by Joseph Herron
When 2011 began, The USA had lost faith in boxing's longtime glamour division.
With all heavyweight titles residing currently in Eastern Europe, American fight fans were trying to think of reasons why they should care about the Heavyweight division once again.
David "El Nino" Rodriguez can think of 33 big reasons why fight fans should be hopeful.
The El Paso, TX, native has 35 victories with 33 devastating wins coming by way of knock out, and will be looking for number 34 this Saturday night in Las Cruces, NM, when he faces veteran Byron Polley.
"I know that 2012 is going to be my year," confidently professes the 6'4" heavyweight. "I know that with my punching power and handspeed, I'm realistically just two fights away from a major title fight."
David realizes that his road to a championship bout has seen more than a few detours, but the heavy handed fighter states that he can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
"I know that I'm only a couple of fights away from getting one of the Klitschko brothers in the ring. If I can just get one of those guys in the ring with me, I know I will knock them out."
"No one can take my punching power...No one!!"
With faith in his abilities and the support from his die-hard fans, the kid from Texas believes that the moment of truth will finally arrive next year.
"I know next year I'll finally get my respect. But, I'm not overlooking Byron Polley. I know he's a tough fighter and I know I have to be at my best in order to be victorious."
Rodriguez is confident that he will ultimately be victorious tomorrow night at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, NM.
"I promise that I will bring home a victory and do my best to close the show in style."
