Tyson Fury Promises to Destroy David PriceWritten by Leroy Cleveland
While attending a boxing card in Kent, heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (19-0, 14KO) trashed Audley Harrison and threatened and insulted his arch-rival, David Price (14-0, 12KO), on live television on Saturday night.
When asked his thoughts on Price's 81 second demolition of Harrison by a television reporter, an angry Fury railed:
"To be honest, Harrison is the biggest bum inside boxing and my reaction to Price and Maloney calling me out, that midget yeah! I'll fight David Price any day of the week."
"See you, you plumber from Liverpool, it's personal between you and me and I'm going to do you some serious harm you big, stiff idiot.
"Also It's going to need 10 plumbers to do you when I've got finished with you. Also you are getting it for sure. Call me out, call me any names and you are getting it.
"And you know your gay lover, Tony Bellew, I'll fight him in-between rounds."
Why Was Tyson Fury So Angry?
Earlier this year, Fury gave up his British and Commonwealth Heavyweight title upon learning the 6'8"/203cm David Price would be his new mandatory challenger. His anger is undoubtedly the result of accusations from the fans, some in the media and Price himself that he's scared to fight his British peer.
Some believe Price's size and power would give the 6'9"/206cm Fury, who has been rattled a few times by smaller, lesser opponents, problems. Conversely, others assert Fury (at least today) would be the favorite over Price because the former has more pro experience and wins over arguably more established opposition.
Frank Maloney, the promoter of British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price whom Fury referred to as an "idiot midget," offered Fury 500,000 pounds to accept a bout with David Price immediately after the latter's win Saturday night.
"[Fury has] never seen that kind of money," Maloney said.
Later that night, Fury posted another video via Twitter saying, "Frank Maloney, David Price. I'm contacting your office in the morning you little midget. If you haven't got half a million that you've been bragging about, which I know you haven't, you're in deep trouble."
"He needs to get off the Twitter, stop Twittering and take this fight," Maloney said.
Tyson Fury vs David Price... It may happen, but not before one is a world champion. And when or if it does happen, it will be huge.
