Cotto vs Canelo: Looking good for NovemberWritten by Joshua Broom
Representatives from Golden Boy Promotions and Roc Nation Sports are close to finalizing an agreement that will see WBC middleweight and four division champion Miguel Cotto 34, (40-4 33 KO) of Puerto Rico defend his lineal Middleweight title against former unified 154 lb champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez 24, (45-1-1 32KO) of Mexico.
Both sides have already agreed on a November showdown that will be broadcast on HBO Pay-Per-View. The likely venue will be the fabled MGM Grand or Thomas & Mack Center, both of which are in Las Vegas.

On the heels of yesterday's talks, "Canelo" Alvarez's represenative, Vice President of Golden Boy Promotions Eric Gomez, hopes to conclude successful negotiations very soon.
"There are still some details that need to be fixed. We've been negotiating, we're missing some details. It's important to establish [the date and venue] - but not only that, there are other details.
We have a meeting with them [on Thursday], with the Cotto people and with Roc Nation," Gomez told ESPN Deportes.
According to Boxingscene.com, both camps are extremely optimistic and working very closely together to ensure that an announcement will be made sometime next week.
