Most observers feel that Manny legitimately won the first two despite the decision favoring Bradley in their first fight.
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 is said to be Manny Pacquiao’s farewell fight. And it will serve as an opportunity for Bradley to silence the critics who don’t believe he beat Pacquiao the first time, and have not given him the respect of being among boxing’s elite class.
While I agree that Pacquiao deserved to win both of their bouts, I cannot support the notion that Bradley is anything less than great and I believe he has the tools to ‘fight it out’ with anybody in the game.
On Saturday night, Bradley will be entering the ring with Hall of Fame trainer Teddy Atlas in his corner. After seeing the way Bradley dismantled and knocked out Brandon Rios, I have to disagree with most critics who simply favor Pacquiao in this fight.
We saw a much more disciplined Bradley in the Rios fight.
If a fighter has fundamental errors, a guy like Rios will likely expose them with the pressure he applies and his punching power. But Bradley boxed smart and didn’t take the unnecessary risks that have gotten him in trouble in recent bouts.
Each time he was in the pocket, he kept his knees bent and didn’t give up his defensive position in an effort to trade punches with his opponent. It seems that working with Atlas has given Bradley the small adjustments to his game that he needed to become a complete fighter at the elite level.
If Bradley can implement these adjustments on Saturday night, and stay focused through all twelve rounds, he can beat Manny.
In the second fight, we saw Bradley’s ability to anticipate Pacquiao’s moves and punches during the first few rounds. He stayed a step ahead of him and consistently beat Manny to the punch. When Manny closed the gap and let off hard left hands, Bradley’s demeanor changed and he stayed in the pocket with Manny which cost him the fight.
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3
Date: April 9, 2016
TV: HBO PPV ($59.99)
Location: Las Vegas
Time: 9:00pm ET (U.S.)
Bradley cannot beat Pacquiao in the pocket. Manny has too much speed, too much power, and throws better combinations from that range. But if Bradley can stay disciplined, even if he gets hit with a good shot, I feel his feet and his jab are superior to Pacquiao’s.
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 prediction
I am picking Bradley by decision on Saturday night.
I saw a lot of good things since Teddy Atlas has stepped in and believe that Bradley has the ability to beat anybody at 147 and take over the sport.
The only thing that gets in his way is his offensive instinct when he gets too comfortable or he gets hit with a good shot.
In the Rios fight, I saw a Tim Bradley who is not only one of the best boxers in the world, but a fighter who has grown and has learned the adjustments that great pro’s make to take their careers to another level.
Should Bradley beat Pacquiao, he will be in position to take Mayweather’s throne.
