Jesse Hart "Definitely" Wants Shot at Gilberto RamierezWritten by Mark Weber
Gilberto Ramirez may have made history this weekend becoming the first ever Mexican Super Middleweight Champion, but he won't get to relish in the moment very long if Philadelphia's Jesse Hart has his way.
When asked by Fightsaga.com if he'd like to fight Gilberto Ramirez next, he responded, "Definitely."
"I definitely want a shot at Gilberto, I'd love to get that opportunity."
Gilberto won the WBO Super Middleweight championship against Arthur Anraham this past Saturday, shutting out the long-time top fighter on all 3 judges scorecards.
It was a superb performance by Ramirez, who also became the country's heaviest recognized champion.
At 24, Ramirez is one of the biggest prospects under the Top Rank banner, but he's not alone.
North Philadelphia's Jesse Hart is another Super Middleweight prospect promoted by Bob Arum, and he believes a fight with Gilberto is on the horizon.
"If the fight happens [a fight with Ramierez,] it happens, but I'm all for whatever Bob Arum has planned for me. That man brought me up from nothing, I'm grateful of him. But yes,I'd love to get a shot against Gilberto."
It would be a great fight to see, but it probably doesn't quite make sense just yet, especially considering how young both fighters are. Also, Hart is not ranked in the WBO's top 10, so it's unlikely a fight between the two would take place anytime soon, but it's most certainly a fight we may be asking for in the future.
Would you take Hart over Ramirez as of right now?
