Kell Brook sparring Liam Smith; Is fearful of Gennady Golovkin (VIDEO)

While preparing for his "legacy" fight against Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, which will take place at a sold-out O2 Arena in London, England, current IBF Welterweight titlist Kell Brook has been working meticulously to put forth a career defining performance on September 10.

Part of his grueling training regimen has included world class sparring with current WBO Super Welterweight champion Liam Smith, who fights just a week after Brook against current lineal Middleweight champ Canelo Alvarez.

"The Special One" talks about the benefits of exchanging leather with a fellow world champion while preparing for the biggest fight of his career.

"Been sparring with Liam Smith, Light Middleweight world champion who's fighting Canelo," the current IBF Welterweight champion explained in the pre-fight documentary, "Kell Brook: Inside the Ropes". We're having great spars, competitive spars, and I think it's what we both need."

"We both need tough sparring. It's good to not have it your own way in sparring. I like to feel the pain and the punishment in the training.

Although the last two months have been anything but easy for the Sheffield native, his promoter believes the added weight has helped him immensely throughout this training camp.

"With less than two weeks remaining before his fight with Golovkin, Kell is sparring ten rounds," Eddie Hearn said to ESNews. "He wouldn't be working like this so close to the date of the fight if he were fighting at Welterweight. With twelve days out, he would probably do only six rounds, because he would have nothing left. Take away 2000 calories a day that he's burning, and only putting in maybe 6 or 700...it's not the way to get an optimal performance."

"Because he's not having to drain so much, you're going to get an optimal performance from Kell Brook on September 10th. Unfortunately for him, he's going to be facing Gennady Golovkin. But he wouldn't have it any other way."

Kell will be moving up two weight divisions, or 13 pounds, to fight the most avoided man in boxing next Saturday night. Although the added weight brings a greater sense of confidence and power to the undefeated Briton, he does admit to having a twinge of fear when thinking about facing GGG in less than two weeks.

"Fear does come into it, of course," admits Kell Brook. "In any fight, fear comes into it. Fear of losing...that's the biggest fear for me. Because all I do is win. That fear is what keeps me on my toes."

"You need everything in a fight. You need fear, nerves, excitement. In this fight, I've got absolutely all of it...with a shine to it."

When pondering the idea that he'll be a five to one betting underdog leading into his super fight with GGG, Kell is 100% positive that he will indeed shock the world on September 10, and become the new Middleweight champion of the world.

"It's going to happen...,mark my words, it's going to happen. I'm so excited, I'm going to do this!"
