Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller weight: 32 pounds in a yearWritten by Leroy Cleveland
Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (22-0-1, 19 KO) tipped the scale at 315.4 lbs for his fight tonight against Bogdan Dinu (18-0, 14 KO) who weighed 237.4 lbs.
For the second straight time, the 6'4" Miller will enter a fight north of 315 lbs.
When he entered the ring last month against Tomasz Adamek, Miller weighed 317. Yet, against Mariusz Wach, just a year ago, Miller carried only 283 lbs.
He's packed on 32 pounds in a year but the added weight hasn't seemed to bother him. Nevertheless, even for a man his size gaining 32 pounds in such a short period is nothing to sneeze at.
As we've seen in his last two fights, Miller still moves well for a 300+ pound man and has good pop in his punch. Moreover, although he's aggressive, Jarrell seems to pick his shots well and is adept at throwing a wide variety of punches from angles.
Against Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder or Luis Ortiz, I'd like to see Miller back down to 283. Conventional wisdom says he'll be faster and have more endurance. That stated, conventional wisdom also says a fella 6'4" 315 pounds shouldn't be as spry and as good as Miller.
